Challenge:
US Army (13th COSCOM) in Iraq needed a solution to overcome communications black spots on a logistics route between Basra and Baghdad.
Solution:
BDC analyzed the routes taken and produced a network design using PPA (Path Profile Analysis) where needed. From this recommendations were made that overhauled current repeater sites, selected new ones and used unemployed equipment that was held but not utilized to solve the issue.
Results:
13th COSCOM consequently obtained unbroken communications on their logistics routes enabling variation of route selection. This increased confidence of the soldiers in the convoys and increased security for the unit.
